Conspiracy Theories

With the recent memorial of 9/11 I thought I would share something that was discussed in my class. I was in my Public Speaking class and my teacher was talking about different speeches she'd heard recently and the day before 9/11 UVU had a man come and speak about it. This man was apparently one of the scientists that had worked on the 9/11 case and shared some conspiracy theories of "what really happened." I've heard all different kinds of junk about this topic but this was new information that they had just found. Apparently when cleaning up the after math of that horrible day scientists found big chunks of the building with red paint on it. They have recently found that this paint is a type of explosive agent. The reason this is so interesting is because scientists say that the rate the buildings dropped is impossible. They said that where the plane hit would have started a huge explosive fire and knocked out a few floors. The rest of the floors would have to be completely burned through before the building started collapsing and each floor would have taken about 2 hrs. to burn through. The buildings collapsed within 6 seconds and from the ground up. They are saying now that this red explosive paint played a part in the explosion, and they are looking for the answers to where the paint came from. I don't think his theories involved the US Government, but it does leave some questions. I know these are just theories but I would love to hear what others think of what this scientist had to say. I personally think that our government had NOTHING to do with it. Tell me what you think....

That is a very interesting theory. It is a scary thought to think the government might have provided or painted the explosive paint, to help destroy our own buildings. They may have. I have been reading my history book for American heritage, the people back then could rise up in rebellion and be able to without getting killed, at least right away. If we were trying to revolt today, against higher taxes for those who get paid more, we would be caught the instant it was found out a group was forming, and killed. I think it was John Locke that said if the government is becoming corrupt, the people have the right if not the responsibility to revolt. Maybe it is our time to find out what is really going on behind the facade of our nation's government. We need to stop the country before it becomes more corrupt. No one would want to pin point our own leaders as guilty. Could they be?

Thanks for starting this discussion thread, guys. I've heard many of these theories, too, and I've even heard some structural engineers suggest that the way the buildings collapsed could not have happened so quickly as a result of the airplanes' impact alone. However, many conspiracy theories leave out some of the facts and are fairly easy to refute. There is an interesting online journal devoted to doing just that if anyone is interested in checking it out. The website is www.jod911.com.

mabey i'm just too naive, but i think the government in general tries to to the best it can for America. (even if they are not always honest.) they used to use lead in paint as well, later we found out that using it is a health risk but no one thinks that someone out there purposfully made dangerous paint for our houses. I'll bet it's the same with this paint. who knows?

Hey!
I found your blog because _I_ was Heather Hutchinson before I got married.
: )
Go figure.
The weird thing is I was there. I taught HS 1/2 block south of the south tower and my husband used to work for Lehman Brothers. I wrote about my experiences that day which you can view here.

I will say this in defense of your last two commenters, daniel and curtis, most folks in NYC don't tend to buy into these theories. That's probably because, being there, you get to see how the city lives...it's on ALL DAY. The lights in the WTC were on all day. People were working ALL day. To find a way to paint ANYthing on that building would have been nigh on impossible post Phillipe Petit and the 93 bombings.
I actually never felt safer anywhere--the Towers were WELL protected...on the ground.

The NY Times did a very good series about...oh...six months after the towers fell where they broke it down and explained (a) how some folks above the impact site survived, (b) how the fires started and where they traveled, and (c) how the buildings dropped.

I know it's more interesting to think that someone here was doing an inside job blah blah blah, but I think this one is a total Occam's Razor---the simplest explanation is the right one. There were 19 guys who decided to commit suicide and take a bunch of innocent people with them for some vague publicity stunt in support of their cause. The world is full of stupid. In this case, a lot of stupid got together and caused a lot of damage.

Don't misunderstand, I'm with AmberZ--and Jefferson either said or agreed with Lockd: "What country before ever existed a century & a half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it's natural manure."
They also say in the Declaration: "We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. . . whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive to these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

So, yeah, I'm not into trusting our current government--they haven't given us a whole lotta reason to...but if they couldn't get water to Katrina Victims, I don't think they could orchestrate a multi-jet attack on their own country...knowwhattI'msayin?

Anyway, Heather Hutchinson, it was good to find you and see that you're a blogger too!
All the best,
Heather

Hey Heather, thank you for your agreeing opinion! Really! What you said made perfect sense. With the issue that our Government could not get water to Katrina victims, I think, is bogus though. That must just be some sort of a cover up to show how inept, maybe, that we(we being the gov.) are, so we would not be able to scheme this sort of attack. No one would suspect. I don't know, just a thought I had. Thanks again. :)
